Presentation

Presentation at meetings can be a demanding business. Effective presentation at meetings requires skills such as clarity in speech and phrasing, linking and control language, timing interventions, assertiveness, defending a vulnerable position and handling and asking questions. Whilst these areas are covered on the workshop there is one key area on which we focus – that of structuring your presentation for speed and clarity.

Tip for Presentation

Think of the acronym PISA to help you focus on where you are and where you still need to go in your presentation. If making a proposal for change or handling a question use PISA to keep you on track.

P – Purpose or context of your proposal

I – Important point

S – Secondary point or supporting evidence

A – Action to be taken

With supervision and practice you will be able to turn a presentation of 15 minutes, to five minutes, to fifteen seconds. IMS will show you how.
